The hardest time

I couldn't believe that I could go through the hardest time in my life. After 12 hours, my cute daughter was born on June 12th. I couldn't feel anything except exhausted at that time. Three days later, I discharged from the hospital. The first day that I got home, I didn't want to feed my baby because I was too weak. I wished that my parents were here. I was aware that there wouldn't be anyone to help us. We were on our own. I knew there wasn't only me but also Hongchun felt exhausted during that time. He had to go to a class, take care of Alice and me, cook, wash dishes, do laundry, do a lot of homework ,etc. I only could sleep less than an hour every three hours, but Hongchun could only sleep two to four hours every day. Both of us were struggling to make ends meet.

Fortunately, Alice didn't cry a lot in the first three weeks. After three weeks, Alice started to eat more and more, and she also started to cry at night when she was hungry or wanted someone to company. Therefore, we changed our sleep schedule. During the night time, we needed to keep being awake. Whenever she slept at daytime, we slept with her. That was a really strange time for us. We could not always follow her sleeping time, we still had a lot things to do during her sleeping time. We needed to clean our apartment, do laundry, cook, wash dishes, and so on. Because of too much work, we could not rest well. We were dizzy almost everyday. The only happy thing for us was watching her growing. We were so pleased that Alice looks plump and healthy. This is also the only reason for us to go through this hardest time. This hardest time was ended on August 27th by Alice herself. That day was the first day that Hongchun went back to work. Suddenly, she kept being awake a whole day, and then she started to sleep at night. Finally, we felt that we were liberated.

Now she can manage her time much better than before. Therefore, we can have much more spare time for ourselves. We can meet friends, go window shopping, and chat on line.
